Day 9: W. A Martin

Sickening that our inventors for so long ago, all get thrown together on one page and it’s called “history.” These people had lives and determination. I can’t wait until February 28th… I’ll have the BIGGEST celebration of black history you can imagine.

W.A Martin – invented/paved the way for the modern day lock. He improved the 4000 year old idea the Chinese had.
Washington A Martin, from Chicago, Ill. patented his idea, which had to be amongst a first as blacks were not allowed to do so without a WASPM (because even women didn’t have entitlements) on July 23, 1889.
