Author Highlight: Book Review of The Forbidden Man by Elle Wright

Today’s Author Highlight is of Elle Wright.

This is the second of my book reviews that I am posting to my blog. Similar to the first book review, this book is available on pre-order so I could not leave a review on the page. So you guys are getting another treat! I am going to give you all a book review of The Forbidden Man by Elle Wright. It will be released July 28, 2015. For purchasing information, please click on the book.

I received an ARC (Advanced Reading Copy) of The Forbidden Man by Elle Wright. It has 352 (361 if you include the sneak peek from His All Night) pages and the synopsis for the book is as follows:

Sydney Williams has forgiven her fiancé, Den, more times than she can count. But his latest betrayal just days before their wedding is too big to ignore. Shocking her friends and family, she calls off the engagement. She walks out on Den . . . and into the arms of his brother, Morgan.

Known as a player, Morgan Smith has secretly spent years fighting his feelings for Sydney. When Den’s latest dirty deed leaves Sydney devastated, Morgan can’t stop himself from coming to her rescue. What begins as friendship quickly escalates into all-consuming passion. Despite their intense connection, Sydney would rather deny her desire than come between brothers. But as Morgan is determined to make Sydney his, Den won’t give her up without a fight . . .

First, I would definitely recommend this book to readers. Let me introduce you to all of the players involved. There are the Smith Boys (Caden, Morgan and Kent), the Williams Siblings (Jared and Sydney) and their friends (Calisa and Allina). This is not your run-of-the-mill type of romance novel. This isn’t, boy meets girl, they fall in love, complications arise, they work it out… there is so much more. This is a true love triangle that could break down relationships all around.

I don’t want to give away too much of the story, but let me give you the dynamics. Caden and Sydney are engaged until he cheats. Knowing that he has messed up, again, he is doing everything to fight for her love. While defending his brother and trying to have his back, Morgan secretly withholds his feelings for Sydney. Here’s the problem, this didn’t just happen. They all practically grew up together. Things happen, and Sydney and Morgan find themselves in a predicament; they have to hide it from their family and friends or it could implode the very foundation on which they stand. Meanwhile, Calisa and Jared are having their not-so-secret rendezvous. They put on a charade that everyone has already known about since the beginning. While they are trying to hide their well-known secret, they try to help Syd and figure out what she needs to do.

On the flip side, Kent has already seen through Syd and Morgan’s “hiding” and despite being his older brother Caden’s keeper and back haver, he keeps this secret from him while confronting Morgan.

Sound messy? It is. Does it have twists and turns and unforeseen events occur, of course. Everyone’s reaction is expected, that is until Caden’s accident. Want to find out how it all goes down? Pre-Order your copy today!!!!

I definitely give this book a 5. I look forward to reading more from Ms. Wright as this is the first book I’ve read by her. (His All Night comes out in November)
